Siva Kumar (Suriya) is a scientist who invents a watch which can control time. However, Siva Kumar’s twin brother Athreya (Suriya) tries to snatch this watch from Siva Kumar and kills the latter and his wife (Nithya Menon). At the same time, Athreya too slips into coma. 25 Years later, Mani (Suriya), Siva Kumar’s son who is head over heals in love with Sathya (Samantha) discovers that he has the power to control time. Athreya who is just out of coma now wants this watch back. Will Athreya succeed in getting this watch? Watch the movie in theatres for the story to unfold.

Positive Points:

Suriya out performs in the role of Athreya, Siva Kumar and Mani. He takes it off effortlessly and with much grace. He manages to look evil and innocent the characters of Athreya and Siva Kumar respectively.

Samantha looks adorable in the role of Sathya. Time freeze scenes were beautifully picturised. Cinematography, VFX were upto perfection. Story narration was crisp and Vikram Kumar’s execution deserves an applause.

Negative Points:

Romantic sequences between Suriya and Samantha seem to be dragged in the second half. Songs in the movie was a big hinderance to the narrative flow. Few edits in the second half of the film would have added more value to 24

On the whole, 24 is a combined result technical brilliance and great execution from director Vikram. Performance of Suriya was top notch and deserves appreciation. It is a must watch on the big screen for its visual extravaganza.
