Babu Bangaram, one of the most awaited movie in the recent times has hit the screens today. Being Venkatesh’s trademark film after a very long time (as shown in the trailer), fans are going frenzy about the film. Co-starring Nayanthara in the female lead, Babu Bangaram is directed by Maruthi. Maruthi proved his talent in directing family entertainers with Bhale Bhale Magadivoy. On the other hand, Venky and Nayan will be seen together for the third time in this film after Lakshmi & Tulasi. Naga Vamsi and PDV Prasad are making their debut with this film as producers. Let’s see if Babu Bangaram appeals to all section of audience or not. Here’s the review.
Sailu (Nayanthara) is a middle class woman who takes up the responsibility of her family. Sailu’s father Jayaprakash goes into a hiding as he is falsely accused and police are on a look out for him. ACP Krishna(Venkatesh) takes up this case and enters Sailu’s house with the help of Bathai Babu(Prudhvi). Krishna falls in love with Sailu. However Sailu misinterprets that Krishna has entered her life to catch her father who is in a hideout. Rest of the story is how Krishna rescues Sailu’s father and win’s her love.
Venkatesh’s fans have been eagerly waiting for this film and seeing him in his vintage look is a treat. Venkatesh and Nayanthara make a great onscreen couple. Venky’s acting talent needs no special mention as the actor proved it many times with his earlier films. He looked much younger and energetic in Babu Bangaram. Prudhvi as Bathai Babu and Posani Krishna Murali’s scenes were a laugh riot. There is one scene in the movie where the whole team of Venkatesh go out on to the roads to sell food. This scene should not be missed. The action sequences were well picturised. Song visuals looked splendid. Special mention has to be made about cinematographer Richard Prasad. Every frame of the film looked beautiful. Maruthi took great care through out the movie to keep the audience entertained.
Initial few scenes of the movie seemed to be routine. Vennela Kishore and Brahmaji could have created more laughter and their talent was not well utilised. Brahmanandam’s comedy might appeal only to mass audience.
Babu Bangaram has lived up to the expectations of the audience and is a complete entertainer for the weekend. For Venkatesh’s fans, Babu Bangaram is the movie which you have all waited for!
