Story:

After starting his own party Telugu Desam Party, NTR (Balakrishna) begins campaigns and wins with the massive public support and within no time NTR becomes the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

 The twist in the tale arises when NTR loses power due to a political conspiracy. How NTR manages to escape this conspiracy and wins over them? And how NTR’s wife Basavatarakamma (Vidya Balan) loses her battle with cancer form the main story.

Performances:

Nandamuri Balakrishna should be lauded for his brilliant performance as he owned the movie again as NTR. His performance is praise-worthy. Rana Daggubati aptly get into the skin of CBN and his performance is good. Bharat Reddy, Poonam Kaur, Manjima Mohan are good. Vidya Balan as Basavatarakama is too good and she is the soul of the film. Kalyanram excels in his role as his father Late Hari Krishna. Sachin Khadekar and other actors also proved their worth.

Positives Aspects:

Negative Aspects:

  • Second half lagged a bit
  • Few lags in-between.
  • Songs aren’t as good

Technical Aspects:

Gnanasekhar VS visuals made sure that we are in that bygone era with all the limitation The editing of Arram Ramakrishna is too good. Krish and Sai Madhav Burra did a decent job in being able to keep the movie at a pace as writers. Krish as a director tried his best to make us all evident of the efforts the actors and other crew involved put-in. Overall, he did great job with his direction and screenplay.

Verdict:

NTR Mahanayakudu – A must watch biopic of the legendary politician.
