After much delay, the third installment of the Singam series will finally hit theatres. We are so excited! From the looks of the trailer, the movie promises to be a high octane actioner. The movie also stars Shruti Haasan and Anushka Shetty. Despite the release dates being postponed already, there is a huge buzz around Singam 3! Let’s see how it will be.
Narasimha (Suriya), a fierce honest cop has been promoted as Commissioner (Crime Branch). He is all set to head to Andhra Pradesh to investigate the murder of former Commissioner of Vizag. The course of investigation leads Narasimha to international mission where me meets up with the villain. Why was the Commissioner murdered and how he handles the case forms the crux of Singham 3.
Suriya- isn’t he a reason enough to watch the film. He is the only who can carry off that handlebar moustache with such style and attitude. Durai Singham is back! Suriya’s hard core kicks and punch dialogues are power-packed. Apart from Suriya, the female lead cast looks equally promising. The movie stars the killer combination of Shruti Haasan and Anushka Shetty. While Anushka played a role in the previous parts, Shruti Haasan is joining the cop drama series for the first time. They both did fantastic job in their respective roles.
The concept of the film is novel and interesting. The first half of the film is pretty good as the mood of the film is light and the director is focused on telling you a unique story. And there are few good plot twists peppered here and there to surprise you. Suriya gives his all and comes up with an earnest performance. Suriya shines in the shoes of powerful cop.
Harris Jayaraj’s songs are perfectly synced with the story. Suriya with his dialogue delivery, eye expressions, body language and live energy has redefined screen presence! What a show! He brings in a majestic and a respectable color to the police attire and his dexterity over action sequences is remarkable.
Cinematographer Priyan neatly captures the exotic locales and the car chase sequence in Durban has been done well. V.T Vijayan and Jay, the editor duo have worked in tandem with Hari to keep the proceedings pacy. The predictable nature of the plot and the climax could well be the downers of this otherwise well packed action entertainer.
A Singham movie is not complete without punch dialogues and hard core fight scenes. Where there is Singham there is both! The movie will you leave on the edge of your seat, and that’s what people love about Singham 3.
The second half is bit boring and the lack of emotional aspect in the film is major drawback. Moreover, the third franchise story is annoying.
On the whole, Singham 3 is a worth watch and strikes big time. Suriya’s terrific screen personality steals the show. Screen presence redefined!
